Writing Policies Vs. Procedures

You know we need them. But writing them is a chore. Want to make that chore easier?

What is the difference between a policy & a procedure?  How do you know when you need one, the other, or both?  Who is responsible for writing, for approving and for adhering to them? When you have the answers to these questions the task is not so bad.

This session will define policies, procedures, as well as some other document types which are necessary to communicate authority, and responsibility.

K.I.S. Tips on Keeping It Simple, as well as before & after ‘weight loss’ success stories that left examiners’ jaws hanging low in disappointment when they had to put their nit-picking pencils away.  (Oh don’t get me wrong. We welcome regulators who help us move to the next level.  They can’t share “their good stuff” when their time is tied down checking tight situations we created by writing policies containing operational procedures, though, can they?)

Participants will gain hands-on experience editing and writing policies, procedures and evaluation steps.

Tips will be included for communicating & coordinating your CU’s rules to your many audiences.  If time allows, we will also discuss appropriate steps for violations.
