Amazing: with all the interest in incentive plans, no model has emerged; there's much experimenting going on.

  • Who should we exclude in an incentive plan?

  • How often should we plan on making payouts?

  • If goals are achieved, do we payout even when the bottom line is negative?

  • What kind of plan stands up to regulatory scrutiny?

  • How often should we adjust the goals if the cost of incentives gets to be too much?
